Tyran Parke | Biography

Tyran grew up in Newcastle Australia. Since graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, his professional credits include The Sound of Music, Oliver!, Eurobeat, Into the Woods, Rosie, Listen to My Heart, Nostradamus, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Evita, Putting it Together, Sunset Blvd, Madame De, The Hatpin, Angels in America, Funny Girl, Anything Goes, Mack and Mabel, South Pacific, Tick Tick Boom!, She Loves Me, Keep Coming Back and his award winning portrayal of George in Stephen Sondheim’s  Sunday in the Park with George. He released his debut CD, SUNDAY IN THE PARKE to rave reviews and his latest CD is due for release early 2013. His latest cabaret show, A Little Knight Music has toured extensively throughout Australia, headlined the Adelaide Cabaret Festival and completed a successful season in New York. Tyran ran Sydney’s premiere cabaret venue, Statement Cabaret for three years and completed the cabaret program at Yale University. As a producer he has produced many large-scale concerts, corporate entertainment events, Into the Woods in Concert, and Raise the Roof. As a director he has worked at NIDA, WAAPA, the Australian Institute of Music and on Metro Street, Next to Normal, Thom Pain, The Laramie Project, Love Bites and Jekyll and Hyde. Tyran is much in demand as a dramaturg and is currently working on several professional productions. He appeared on Television in Crash Palace and most recently with the Bell Shakespeare Company in Much Ado About Nothing. In Auckland he has appeared as Tobias in Sweeney Todd, Billy in Anything Goes, Jamie in The Last Five Years and as Cliff in Auckland Theatre Company’s much acclaimed production of Cabaret.
