Stephen Madsen | Biography

Stephen graduated from WAAPA in 2014. His theatre credits include J.D. in Heathers (Australian Tour), Mark in Rent (Hayes Theatre), Richard Loeb in Thrill Me: The Leopold and Loeb Story (Chapel Off Chapel) and Artie in The Catalinas of Crawley Bay (His Majesty's Theatre, Perth). After winning the TDP/ASCAP Bound for Broadway Scholarship he performed in New York at Birdland and Don’t Tell Mama and headlined a Broadway Tomorrow concert at the Kennedy Centre in Washington D.C. He is a three time Sydney Theatre Award nominee (Best Actor in a Musical, Best Supporting Actor in a Musical and Best Newcomer). He features in the short films Coffee, Benched, Red, Maidens and A Place in Space and Time. He will next appear as Olympic swimming hopeful Alexander Shkuratov in Muriel's Wedding for Sydney Theatre Company.
