Matt Edgerton | Biography

Matt trained at The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). For Sport For Jove he has appeared in The Libertine, Macbeth and The Taming of the Shrew and has directed The Tempest and Othello and assistant directed Hamlet.

He has acted in many productions for other companies including Bell Shakespeare, Black Swan, Ensemble, Mooghalin, Red Dust, Siren, Tamarama Rock Surfers and Theatre of Image. For ABC radio Matt has voiced numerous plays, serials and novels including The White Earth. He has appeared in television and film including The Junction Boys (ESPN).

Matt had directed ten shows for Bell Shakespeare’s Actors At Work programme, co-writing three and has written and directed a number of shows for Poetry In Action. He has also directed shows for WAAPA and Shaman Productions.

Matt was the full time Resident Artist In Education for Bell Shakespeare from 2007 – 2010. He is a Winston Churchill Memorial Fellow and a proud member of Actors Equity.
