Di Smith | Biography

Di Smith has enjoyed a varied and highly visible career since graduating NIDA. She travelled with ‘The Great Outdoors’ for Network Seven and is best known and well loved as Dr Alex Fraser in ‘A Country Practice’. She has played many screen guest roles – most recently in ‘Puberty Blues’ as Deputy Grantham and in ‘Promise Me’, the final telemovie from ‘Redfern Now’. Theatre credits include ‘A Little Night Music’, ‘Henry IV’, ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’, ‘Shorts at the Wharf’, ‘No Worries’ and ‘Two Weeks with the Queen’  (Sydney Theatre Company); ‘How I Learned to Drive’ (Ensemble); ‘Falling from Grace’, (MTC,QTC,STC) and Titania , outdoors in Sydney’s Botanic Gardens ,in ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ Di produced 2017’s winning Tropfest film ‘The Mother Situation’ (written and directed by Matt Day) , as well as other short film and independent theatre productions.
