Anthony Gooley | Biography

A NIDA graduate, Anthony is a Sydney Theatre Award winner for The Libertine (Sport For Jove/Darlinghurst Theatre Company) and was also nominated for Inner Voices (Old Fitz Theatre), Of Mice and Men and A Doll’s House (Sport For Jove). Theatre credits include Calamity Jane (Belvoir/The Comedy Theatre/Arts Centre Melbourne), Assassins (Sydney Opera House/Hayes Theatre Co.), Death Of A Salesman (Ensemble Theatre), The Glass Menagerie (State Theatre Company of South Australia), Replay (Griffin Theatre Company), Barrie Kosky’s The Lost Echo (Sydney Theatre Company), Good WorksAll My Sons (Eternity Playhouse), The Crucible, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Twelfth Night, Othello, The Comedy Of Errors (Sport For Jove), Angels In America (Riverside Theatre), The Shadow Box (Old Fitz Theatre), Empire, Rope (TRS), Three Sisters, Julius Caesar (Cry Havoc), S-27 and Orestes 2.0 (Griffin Independent). As director, Orphans (Red Line Productions), Gruesome Playground Injuries (The Kings Collective) and, later this year, Steve Martin’s The Underpants. His television credits include Australia: The Story of Us, Underbelly, Packed to the Rafters, Tough Nuts, Satisfaction and Home and Away. He will next appear as Eddie Carbone in the Ensemble Theatre’s production of A View from the Bridge in 2019.
