Anna Volska | Biography

Anna Volska is NIDA trained and a member of Equity. She has worked for all the major companies in Australia and was a founding member of the Old Tote, Nimrod precursor of Belvoir, and of the Bell Shakespeare  Company. She spent 3 years with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford on Avon and at the Aldwych. She has worked in France, Russia,Finland, Japan, China, Singapore and Malaysia.

She has played Rosalind in As You Like It, Beatrice in Much Ado, Isabella in Measure For Measure, Emilia in Comedy Of Errors, Queen Elizabeth in Richard3, Katharine in Henry5, Lady Macbeth, and Ophelia and Gertrude in several productions of Hamlet. Most recently Mother in Unholy Ghosts for Griffin and Edwina in Seventeen at Belvoir.

Television: all the series from The Godfathers in 1971 to a stint in All Saints as well as The Recruiting Officer, My Three Angels, Melba, Helena Rubinstein for the ABC.

She has directed for Bell Shakespeare, NIDA, Nepean and Flinders and sat on the boards of Glen St Theatre, Toe Truck and Interplay.
