Amy Usherwood | Biography

Amy graduated from NIDA in 2007. Previous Sport For Jove roles have been in The Taming of the Shrew, Away, Romeo & Juliet, The Tempest, No End of Blame and The River At The End Of The Road. Other theatre includes The Lost Echo (STC), Thieves Like Us and Van Park for Merrigong Theatre Company, Leftovers (NIDA), Risky Lunar Love (504), Shakespeare On Trial (Canute), A Winters Tale and Ache in Wellington, Henry V and Sweet Phoebe in Auckland and Crimes Of The Heart (Red Line). On Television Amy was a regular on the Southern Star Series Out of the Blue, and was core cast for three years on New Zealand’s Shortland Street. She also played Louise Hillary in the tele-movie Hillary. Amy played Joy in Bruce Beresford’s feature film Ladies In Black and was nomiated for Best Supporting Actress in the NZ Film Awards for her role in Eternity directed by Alex Galvin.
