Abe Mitchell | Biography

Abe is a graduate of University of Wollongong (BCA – Music/Theatre). After graduating he worked for LATT Children’s Theatre, South Korea where he toured with other international performers in Twelve Singing Animals (2009), Strange Soup (2009) and The Little Dragon (2010). 

His local onstage credits include playing Mick Jagger in A Riff on Keef (2015) for Griffin Theatre Independent, Trigorin in The Seagull (2017 - Dir. Anthony Skuse, Secret House), Spud the Gunman in the 30th Anniversary production of the Australian musical Darlinghurst Nights (2018 – Dir. Lee Lewis, Hayes Theatre), the world premiere of the new Australian musical Findr (2018 - Jackrabbit Theatre/Darlinghurst Theatre Co) as well as most recently, Maks in Ironbound (2018 - An Assorted Few/KXT). He also devised and performed in 3 sold out seasons (2011-2014) of the South Korean/Australian collaboration 지하 Underground (nominated for Best Musical and Best New Play at the 2011 Matilda Awards). 지하 Underground also toured internationally with a season at Seoul Festival 2014. 

His on-screen credits include the web series SYD2030 (2012-2015) as seen on ABC iView, Girt by Fear (2016 web series), Headlight (2015 short film), Jump (awarded “Best Live Action Short Film” at Palm Springs International Shortfest 2013), as well as  ‘Carter’ in the first season of Channel Nine’s Love Child (2014).
